Hannover
Beyond Compliance. Beyond Care.
Welcome to HSC Nord Occupational medicine Hannover,
Annika Brehm, a specialist in occupational medicine, is dedicated to helping companies and their employees build healthy, high-performance work environments. HSC Nord serves as a strategic, cross-industry consultant, expertly balancing legal compliance with the individual needs of both employers and staff. By leveraging digital tools and streamlined processes, we provide the full spectrum of modern occupational health services in Hannover—from preventive checkups and reintegration management to essential fitness-for-duty examinations.
Occupational medicine in Germany distinguishes between two central services: preventive health care and aptitude tests. Both serve to protect and promote the health of employees, but pursue different goals and approaches.
Preventive Health Checks
Preventive health checks in occupational medicine serve to recognise work-related health risks at an early stage. Regular health checks allow potential health problems to be identified at an early stage and preventative measures to be taken. These examinations promote the health of employees and help to prevent work-related illnesses. They are carried out at regular intervals depending on the risk factors and area of activity.

There are three types of occupational medical precautions:

Mandatory occupational medical precaution
The employer must arrange this. Without the employee's participation in this medical precaution, they are barred from performing the hazardous activity.
Offered occupational medical precaution
The employer is obligated to offer this to the employee concerned. Participation is voluntary for the employee. If employees do not accept the offer, appointments for the medical precaution must still be offered again at regular intervals.
Requested occupational medical precaution
The employer must enable occupational medical precautions at the employee's request, unless no health damage is to be expected based on the assessment of working conditions and the protective measures taken.
Targeted examinations support this consultation process and help to maintain work capacity over the long term. An added value: following the medical precaution, your employees return to their workplace strengthened, informed, and frequently with increased motivation.
