Welcome to HSC Nord Traffic Medicine Services.

HSC Nord delivers occupational traffic medicine (Verkehrsmedizin) services to evaluate driver fitness in accordance with Annexes 4 and 5 of the German Driver's License Regulations (FeV). Our assessments help ensure drivers meet legal standards for safe participation in road traffic.

Standard Driving Licenses (A, B, L, T)
Initial applicants must meet basic physical and mental requirements. In most cases, a certified vision test is sufficient.

Commercial & Heavy Vehicle Licenses (C, CE, C1, C1E, D, DE, D1, D1E)
These categories are subject to stricter medical standards. Licenses are typically valid for five years and require periodic renewal with a medical fitness certificate. Assessments include: medical history review, physical examination, vision and hearing tests and additional diagnostics (e.g., ECG, laboratory tests) when needed.

Passenger Transport Licenses (Taxi & Bus)
Drivers must renew their certification every five years. We conduct mandatory medical evaluations for both new applicants and renewals.

Cognition.

Psychometric Assessment

Under the German Driving Licence Regulations (FeV), professional passenger transport drivers must demonstrate cognitive performance in areas such as:

Concentration and attention
Reaction speed
Orientation and resilience

These abilities are evaluated through standardized psychometric testing.
